Terms of Service

1. Using CompleteCV

By using completecv.com you agree to these terms. You must be at least 16 years old. CompleteCV lets you build a CV or letter in your browser, download it as a PDF, check a CV PDF with the ATS checker and, if you choose, get feedback on your CV. Building a CV and downloading it are free. You don’t need an account to build or preview a CV; downloading the PDF needs a free account, and an optional paid Pro plan adds extras (see Pro plan below).

2. Your content

Your CV belongs to you. Without an account it is saved in your own browser, not on our servers. We process it only for as long as it takes to make your PDF or CV review, and then discard it.

You are responsible for what you put in your CV. Do not include false credentials, fake work history or anything misleading.

We don’t hold a copy of CVs that aren’t saved to an account, so we can’t recover a CV lost when browser data is cleared. Use Export backup in the editor to keep your own copy.

3. Free accounts

  • Accounts are free, and you need one to download a PDF. You sign in with a working email address (we send a code, or you use a password) or with Google; one account per person.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • CVs, letters and applications you save to your account stay there until you delete them or your account. We store them only to give them back to you. The free plan keeps 1 CV and 1 letter editable in your account; if you have more (for example after Pro ends), the others are kept but frozen: you can open and download them, and edit them again on Pro. We may also limit how large saved items can be.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account page. This deletes every CV, letter and application saved in it straight away and can’t be undone.
  • We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms. We will keep the service running as best we can, but please keep your own backup of anything important (Export backup in the editor).

4. CV review

The CV review is written automatically by an AI model and gives suggestions, not guarantees. Feedback may be wrong or incomplete, so check it before you change your CV. Following it does not guarantee an interview or a job.

The CV review needs a free account. Each account has a daily limit (1 review a day on the free plan, 5 on Pro), there is an overall daily limit across everyone, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.

5. Writing tools

The writing tools (improving a line, suggesting bullets, skills or a summary, checking spelling, matching a job ad, translating, drafting a cover letter and coaching tips) are written automatically by an AI model. They are suggestions: check them, keep only what is true for you, and fill in anything shown in [brackets] with your real details. You are responsible for what goes on your CV and in your letters.

The writing tools need a free account. Each account has a daily limit (3 uses a day on the free plan, 30 on Pro), there is an overall daily limit across everyone, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.

6. Pro plan

  • Pro is an optional subscription: ₦4,000 a month, ₦10,000 every 3 months or ₦36,000 a year (students with a confirmed school email: 20% off). Prices are in naira and shown on the pricing page before you pay.
  • Payments are taken by Paystack, our payment provider. Your card or bank details go to Paystack, not to us. CompleteCV is operated by Passdrill Technologies Limited.
  • Your plan renews automatically at the end of each period, and you are charged the price for the period, until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page: Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for and is not charged again.
  • Refunds: you can have a full refund of your first payment within 7 days of making it, from your account page. Pro then ends straight away. Renewals and later payments aren’t refunded, except where the law says otherwise.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we may keep Pro on for a few days while you update your card; after that your account goes back to the free plan. Nothing in your account is deleted when Pro ends.
  • Deleting your account cancels your subscription so you are never charged again; the time left on the current period isn’t refunded.
  • We may change Pro’s price or what it includes. A new price applies only from your next renewal after we have told you, and you can cancel before then.

7. Letters, guides and examples

Our letter templates, guides and examples are general information, written in plain English. They are not legal, HR or immigration advice. Employment law and hiring practice vary by country and employer, so check anything important, such as notice periods or what an offer letter must include, with your employer, a qualified adviser or official guidance where you live.

8. Fair use

  • Don’t use CompleteCV for anything illegal or fraudulent.
  • Don’t try to break, overload or get around the limits of our services, including the PDF and CV review services.
  • Don’t use automated tools to access the services, or resell them, without our permission.

9. Our content

The CompleteCV name, templates, designs and software belong to us. You may use the templates to make and share your own CV, but not copy or redistribute them otherwise.

10. Ads

CompleteCV may show ads on guide and article pages to cover its costs. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the sites they link to.

11. No warranty

CompleteCV is provided "as is" and "as available". We don’t promise that it will always work without errors or interruptions, that your CV will pass every applicant tracking system, or that it will get you a job.

12. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, CompleteCV is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Changes

We may change these terms or the service. When we change the terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using CompleteCV after that, you accept the new terms.
